Working Principle:
- Duplex strainer housing and duplex filters provide a simple, cost effective way to separate particle impurities from fluid systems.
- Duplex basket filter & strainer permits continuous operation because flow can be switched back and forth between two filter sections. This allows one side to be serviced while the other is in use. Normally duplex basket filters are separated with three way ball valves or two way ball valve/ butterfly valve connected with equalization tee, between two baskets filter housing.
- The main function of duplex filter assembly is to remove both small and large particles (contaminants) in hydraulic system.
- Duplex strainer housing are ideal for applications where continuous flow must be maintained with no flow interruption for cleaning.
- Apart from these, duplex filter have a large filtration area. Therefore, it guarantees a high filtration capacity and the pressure drop minimal.
- These filters are available with basket type strainers as well as cartridge strainers having desirable micron ratings.
- These duplex strainers have a butterfly valve that directs flow through either side without shutting off the flow.
- A valve handle guard shields the side in use. The standard valve handles swings over the inlet port. Special reverse valve handles that swing over the outlet port can also be furnished.
- These duplex strainers and duplex filters protect pumps, engines, nozzles, valves, heat exchanger and other expensive pipeline equipment from harmful flow contamination by catching dirt and debris.
